In Home Swim Lessons Available!
Another testimonial:
"My husband and I cannot speak highly enough regarding the talent and kindness that was provide by Deane Davis's swim instruction. She initiated lessons in our home pool and immediately developed a trusting rapport with our 3.5 year old son. In a very short period of time, she guided him from never swimming to being able to jump, dive and swim under water. We are so grateful for her direction and counsel for improving our child's safety and skill level. We recommend her very highly."
Thank you so much again,
Shannon Campbell

Not teaching at Superior Athletic Club.
Today is one of the saddest days for me. Just finished writing a letter of resignation to Pennie Pons, General Manager of Superior Athletic Club.
If anyone wants in home swim lessons, please contact me at 541-538-0331 or email rainbowsharkgirl@gmail.com.
I want to thank all the parents and students for allowing me to teach them and their love ones how to be safe in the water. It has been one of the most rewarding jobs of my life time.
Thank you and keep swimming!

Letter from a parent that has relocated from the area.
Worst part about this job is getting attached with my students and they move away.
Here is part of a letter that I received about 2 of my students, Abby and Andrew.
"Both kids are now swimming. Abby just joined the junior swim team in September and absolutely loves it!!! She swims once a week and had her first of three meets right after Thanksgiving. Having not taking a lesson since her last one with you more than two years ago, she finished in the top ten of thirty in her age group in the three strokes she competed in (free, fly and back). The backstroke is here strong stroke. Now she just needs to learn how to jump off the dive board correctly and actually go when they say start! Andrew finally agreed to start classes again and can actually swim a bit on his own. He is now jumping in, swimming to the teacher and then back to the wall. He loves it and will still mention when he was a baby with his old swim teacher. He remembers you being funny.
I don't think I can say it enough, thank you so much for all you did for our kids. Your patience, persistence and obvious love of teaching children to swim created a love for the water and even more importantly, taught them about being safe around water! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
Take care,
Lynn (and Paul and Abby and Andrew)"

Swim season is fast approaching - call Miss Deane for swim lessons 541-779-7529 ext 381.
If your child is afraid of the water, please bring them to me. I love to help them over come their fears.
Here is a testimonial from a parent with their child in our swim program:
"We have had the pleasure of sending all three of our daughters to Ms. Deane. While the older two loved the water, Olivia (3) had a real phobia of getting in. She would cry at home anytime we put her in the bath! Ms. Deane wasn't fazed and told us to stick it out for at least a few months with her weekly lesson. It took about 5 weeks of Ms Deane's methods, but now Olivia can't wait to get in the pool and can swim on her own back to the side after jumping in. Thanks Ms. Deane

Happy 2016! Come in for swim lessons for you or your love ones.
Here are two testimonials from parents that have their children in our Superior Swim Lessons:
Ms. Deane
Amazing, outstanding and tremendous are just a few words that I can use to describe the transformation of my son, Keldon, in Ms. Deane's swim classes. When he started her swim classes, a few months ago, he was a mess. He went to her class afraid, crying and would yawn continuously. He would say that he was tired as a defense mechanism to try and get out of going to her class. Now he cannot wait to go to swim class. We go once a week for 30 minutes and he loves it so much. (Think I am going to ask about a second class per week.) He has learn how to swim independently with confidence. He can turtle arm, bubble and missile with the best of them. She continues to encourage him to try and better himself. His confidence in the water has grown to the lever where he does not show any fear. He loves to show off what Ms. Deane has taught him to friends and family (or anyone who will watch him). He is now one of the first in her class to raise his hand in participation, even if he isn't sure of what he is to do. I am so thankful that we have Ms. Deane in our lives. I not only see the confidence in the water but it is also carrying into other aspects of his life, such as school. She is truly born to teach swimming. She pushes them to depend on themselves and never to say "No I can't do it but I can try", she showed children that all you have to do is try and you can achieve anything. There are not enough words that I can use to describe her and her abilities to teach in the water. I asked Keldon, my son, what he would about Ms. Deane and he stated, "I like her" and she is a "Great swimmer." I am so thankful for her. Ms. Deane I know that you do not hear this enough but you are a true blessing and we appreciate you so much. I recommend her to anyone that I meet who is interested in having their children learn to swim. Thank you over and over again.
Sincerely,
Kelly Evans

"My daughter started swim lessons with Miss Deane at the age of 7. Before meeting Miss Deane, my daughter was dead set against learning and was very scared and timid. Miss Deane has a "can do" attitude and her quote is "never say no to Miss Deane, always say I'll try". We have the same concept in our home, so this worked great. My daughter was learning turtle arms and kicks and blowing bubbles/humming and going under water and have so much fun while doing it. The techniques used are excellent and actually teach children how to swim or save themselves if they feel scared. By the 3rd class, my daughter was actually jumping in the water (her favorite thing to do at the end of class) and having big smiles! The environment is great too, super nice warm salt water pool and a great locker room with showers. I am so happy to have found Miss Deane and it is the most amazing thing to have my daughter so excited when its her swim lesson day:)

Fall Swim Lessons start 09/14/15
Come and check out all the great improvements to our facility. Superior Athletic Club, 727 Cardley Avenue, Medford OR 97524. 541-779-7529
If you are not seeing improvements in your child's swimming by the 3rd lessons give us a try. Here is another testimonial from a parent:
"My daughter took swim lessons off and on at another organization in the valley from the time she was a year old. She still didn't know how to blow bubbles, keep water out of her mouth and nose, jump in the water by herself, or kick properly. I wouldn't say that she was terrified of the water, but she certainly stayed glued to the side of the pool, even while wearing a flotation belt. She HATED getting her face in the water!
I became so frustrated that I googled other swim lesson opportunities in the valley. Ms Deane's blog came up in the search results, and I began to read all of the testimonials there. Swim lessons with Ms. Deane sounded amazing, and I had high expectations. She got us in right away, and let me say that I was not disappointed! During the very first lesson, Ms. Deane had my daughter doing more than she ever had in all of the other lessons she had taken over the course of the last four years. I immediately signed my younger daughter up for lessons as well!
I truly appreciate Ms. Deane's approach with my children. She is respectful, yet firm, and she has high expectations for her students. My daughter quickly learned that you don't say no to Ms. Deane! Instead, you say, "I'll try". I highly recommend her to anyone who wants their children to truly learn how to swim!

Another testimonial for swim lessons
"I started my son, Michael, in the water at the age of one. We decided to joint ABK's Minnow & Me class where I was in the water with him. It was a lot of fun because we sang songs and he got to go down a slide but after two years he was bored and I came to the realization that after all this time paying for "swim lessons" he really didn't know anything about how to swim. He loved the water but had no idea what to do in the water to be safe. I attempted moving him up to the next class, but they had him wait on a platform in the pool while they worked with one kid at a time and he just screamed the whole time. We decided it was time for a break.
A year later, a friend mentioned Miss Deane's class with Superior Athletic Club. She told us how much her kids loved the class and how well they were swimming after a short amount of time. I enrolled Michael in the class in May 2012 and now in September, he is actually swimming and floating on his back (and has been for a while now). Miss Deane's no-nonsense approach with the kids is refreshing. You don't tell her "no" but instead say "I'll try". This was huge for my son who tends to back down from things when he is nervous. He looks forward to every class and was even concerned recently that swim class was almost over and he really wanted to keep going. I fully intend to start my 11 month old daughter in the class very soon.
Big thanks to Miss Deane for making learning to swim fun for my son!"

Here are more testimonials for your review:
"About a year ago, my then 4-year son started swimming lessons with Ms. Deane. His grandparents have a pool and I knew it was imperative that he learn how to swim. At his first lesson, my son had zero desire to enter the pool without his ever-so-comfy "floaties,"let alone put his face in the water, blow bubbles, jump in the pool or SWIM! I was amazed at Ms. Deane's ability to shut down his negative talk/attitude and appreciated her demand that he give his best effort at all times. After a year of weekly group lessons, my son can swim the length of the pool using multiple stokes/styles properly, hold his breath, blow nose bubbles, dive for rings, canon-ball off the edge of the pool, do flips in the water and most importantly, roll to his back and swim a good distance when he gets tired. Not only has he acquired a love for swimming and gained the confidence to do so well, but he is continually learning how to be safe in the water. Mis Deane is knowledgeable, professional and perfectly balances her softhearted kindness with her demand for respect. I would recommend her to anyone who wants their child to learn to swim!
Thanks for all you do, Deane!"

"Hi Miss Deane,
My testimonial is below, and I mean every word! You're the best.
My son is 3 and has been in Miss Deane's class for two months now. I never imagined that he would be where he is already! The progress he has made is mind blowing. Miss Deane teaches in a way that allows children to face their fears and realize their own capabilities before they know what's happening, and she makes if fun. What a difference two months with her has made! He loves swimming and grows more confident with every lesson. Thank you, Miss Deane."

It's Summer get yourself or your love ones in for swim lessons!
Here are more comments from individuals that have their love ones in swim lessons"
"I am not sure if my wife had contacted you? Zachariah is in your swim class and baseball has started for the spring, so he will not be attending class and has learned so much. In fact we can't keep him out of the water now. I also want to thank you so much for all you do, I really do not think anybody could have broke his fear of the water except for you. Thanks again.

"Miss Deane has accomplished in 2 weeks what I thought would take years to achieve. My 5 year old son was terrified of swimming that he would refuse to even put his toes in a swimming pool. After his first lesson with Miss Deane, he got out of the pool and asked me if he could go right back in; he was so disappointed his lesson was over. During his second lesson, he was jumping in from the side of the pool, submerging under water, and then rolling over to float on his back! He even willing submerged his head to blow bubbles out of his nose! All of this from a kid who, only weeks before, would freeze up and cry if I told him we were going swimming. I don't know what Miss Deane's secret is, but she is a miracle worker. I would recommend Miss Deane to anyone!

Swimming season is coming soon! Here are some more testimonials from parents that have their children in our Superior Swim Lessons:
"After more than 2 years of paying for swim lessons across town, and my 3 year old still unable to even put his face in by himself, I gave up. He had zero interest in water, even for fun. I told him as soon as he learned to float on his back, he could quit. It was time to get serious about water safety, so I asked around and heard Miss Deane could get kids swimming in weeks. I was skeptical with my son, but scheduled 2 private lessons. By the second lesson, he was enjoying the water. By our second group class, he was doing turtle arms and gleefully swimming 3 feet. Now, just 5 weeks in, he gets excited about swimming and talks about being a "swim racer". I never believed that it was possible for my child to become a swimmer. But Miss Deane made it possible.

"Miss Deane is one of the finest swim teachers we have come across. Both my kids are blessed to get training from her. She is very professional, disciplined and at the same time makes it fun for the kids. If we have to recommend someone for swim lessons in the valley it would be Miss Deane and just her as we know it's the best choice - we adore her and she puts more then 100% in each and every kid.

More comments from parents that have their children in our Superior Swim Lessons:
"I sent my son to swimming lessons off and on since he was a year old. I went to another organization in our valley and while they were professional I found my son made minimal progress over the three years. I finally decided it was time to try something different and I had heard about this amazing instructor form Superior Athletic Club.
On my son's first day I was stunned. My first impression was wow, this lady takes learning to swim very seriously. From the moment he started my son knew getting into the water is something not to be taken lightly. She insisted he would not be allowed to enter a pool without asking for permission first. As a mother with family members who have pools I thought to myself what a great idea. I have been fortunate since to date my son has never jumped in a pool; however, I have family member that has had their children run and jump in a pool and they were unable to swim. From there the lesson just got better. My son was extremely afraid of being in the water and was challenged by her to push himself she said "It is okay to be afraid but not okay to not try". He was afraid and the mother in me just wanted to pull him out of the pool and say we can't do this. In one 30 minute lesson I watched my son do things he had never done before. We came back and for the next 3 or 4 lessons each day my sons was afraid but I just felt this was important. Every time he went he made huge progress. Literally in a little over a month my son went from being afraid to getting in the pool on his own to swimming. I was so impressed that I continued his lessons over the summer. By the end of the summer he was doing laps in an Olympic sized pool with my husband. People would say "wow how old is he?, he swims so well". My son is four but he the reason he swins so well is because he went to Miss Deane. I have referred Miss Deane to my friends and they love her. My son still has her once a week for swim lessons since she is so good at teaching swimming.
As a mother, knowing my son can swim well is such a relief. My advice to anyone wanting to teach their child to swim is if you truly want them to learn quickly and care about the quality of the instruction then Miss Deane is the best person for you. She truly is an amazing instructor and I will be in her debt for what she has taught my son.

"We have been participating in swim lessons with Miss Deane for under three months and the change we have seen in our daughter has been absolutely amazing. My daughter is 2 1/2 years old and has never had a swim lessons before. Our first class she cried and was very nervous and in only a matter of a few lessons Miss Deane had bonded with Lucy and not only made her comfortable but excited to be in the water. That alone was worth putting her into class. In just a few short months she can float on her back, swim unaided for a stretch of time, jump off of the side of the pool and swim back to the wall by herself. I am thrilled and amazed at the progress. Miss Deane leads with firm confidence and removes fear and instills excitement and confidence. Her no nonsense approach is exactly what my daughter needed to excel. While Miss Deane runs a tight ship she is fun and loving toward my daughter. My daughter asks daily when she can go to Miss Deane's class and even wakes up in the middle of the night sometimes asking for swim class! We could not be happier with Miss Deane and the progress our daughter has made and is making!

More comments from parents that have their children in our program at Superior Athletic Club.
"I have known Deane Wilson for over three years as my children have been taking swim lessons with Ms Wilson at Superior Athletic Club. Both of my children who are 11 years old and 6 years old progress rapidly in their swimming ability with Ms Wilson's program. (I also have two older children (20 and 18 years old) and therefore had a lot of experiences with different swimming programs at different institutions including the YMCA (in Marin county, CA and Medford, OR), the Hawthorne pool, ABK, etc…)
I am extremely impressed with Ms Wilson's knowledge of children and her mastering of the art of teaching and the sport of swimming and her success with children:
~ Ms Wilson makes swimming fun through games and languages that meet children where they are at
~ Ms Wilson communicates extremely well with children as she brings the information to their level of
understanding and consciousness. In addition, Ms Wilson is firm with children about her expectations
without being strict or severe, which makes children respect her and listen to her instructions
carefully.
~ Ms Wilson is very patient with children and introduces swimming skills gradually and keeps adding
them on. Ms Wilson produces amazing success in introducing difficult techniques to young children.
Her students advance rapidly in developing correct stokes. She is great at building the children's
confidence in their ability to function in the water safely. She never requires children to do anything
that they are not comfortable doing in the water.
~ Ms Wilson teaches important water safety skills in addition to swimming techniques. She teaches
them how to handle different situations, i.e., how to rest in the water or how to use the back stroke
when they are tired. She is excellent at removing children's fear of being in water and makes the
children understand water safety rules, in addition to helping them feel safe and be self-sufficient
in the water.
~ Ms Wilson is excellent at organizing her lessons and teaching a large group with multiple levels
of skills.
~ Ms Wilson is very flexible in allowing for make-up lessons and work with parents on changing
the schedule when the need arises.
Ms Wilson is the best swimming instructor I have ever met in the last 15 years, I am glad that she is
part of the team of instructors at Superior Athletic Club. Her many talents are great gifts to children learning how to swim. I highly recommend her to any parent who are looking for a good swimming program.

"Hi Miss Deane,
Here's Peyton's swim story.
We were on vacation at the Disneyland Hotel. Peyton (4, almost 5) wanted to go down the biggest of their watersides, but they only allow one person at a time. When he reached the bottom and came up, he tried to swim to the side of the pool, rather than the end where the stairs were. At that point he got caught in the current and wasn't making any progress. The lifeguard looked at my husband and said "We're going to have to go in and get him out." My husband told the lifeguard to wait, and just give him a minute. He then yelled "Peyton, TURTLES ARMS!" Peyton immediately started doing turtle arms, and got out of the current. They were the most beautiful turtle arms I'd ever seen! The lifeguard was shocked and said to us "I have NEVER seen a kid get out of that current before." He was totally impressed. And so were we. This situation really make it click with Peyton, and he sees how doing turtle arms makes all the difference in the world.
Thank you Miss Deane for teaching our son this valuable lesson. It really is the BEST way to teach our kids to swim!

Comments from Students and parents that have their children in our Superior Swim Lessons.
"It is a rare teacher that can be as equally effective with two-year olds as well as 73 year olds. Miss Deane is one of those people! It was my good fortune to take a swimming lesson from her. She immediately spotted some things I could do to improve my performance in the pool - or the ocean- after reinforcing what I was doing correctly. Even though I have been swimming for about 65 years, I believe there is always room for improvement.
Miss Deane is positive, fun and firm. The combination is perfect. I have often watched her teaching very young children and see those qualities on display each time. As a retired teach (English, not swimming!) I can recognize good teaching and the qualities one needs to use for the best results. Her teaching allows her students to know how to become their best!
It is a pleasure to recommend Miss Deane without reservation!

"My daughter, Bella is 4 and a half years old, we have been to SEVERAL different locations for "swimming lessons" however never has she learned any swimming techniques! I was so tired of paying people to "play" with toys with my daughter instead of teaching her basic water survival at minimum.
Then I found Miss Deane at Superior Athletic Club. She should be the ONLY swimming teacher in Rogue Valley - why? Because Miss Deane teaches children to SWIM!!!!!
Bella has gone for nearly a full month of twice a week group lessons and one private lesson and as of today, 26th day of March, Bella has gained so much confidence, she would never ever jump into the pool, or "Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall" and then fall into the water, TODAY she did so many Humpty Dumptys that I lost count! And for the first time, she jumped into the pool! I was so thrilled that she is finally jumping in without fear. Mis Deane has instilled a "trust" for Bella and Bella knows it, and she continues to do "Turtle Arms" and "Flap Flap Kick Kick" even at home after her baths. She remembers and she talks about swimming with Miss Deane every day!
Miss Deane, you are a sweetheart for having the patients and skills to teach my Bella to swim and I can not thank you enough.
A month ago when we came into the pool for the first time, Bella was not having any part of falling into and definitely not jumping into the pool! There was not much cooperation on Bella's part in the pool. I am so thrilled with her progress and your work with her, that I think we'll just keep doing lessons until she is ready for the Olympics!
You will forever have my heartfelt thanks for working with Bella - as you are the one person who is "teaching her to swim".
Sincerely,
Sandy Cathey"

Here are more comments from parents that have their children in our Superior Swim Program:
"To whom it may concern....
I'm writing this as a completely unsolicited opinion/review of the quality of the swim lessons my child has received at Superior Athletic Club under the tutelage of Deane Wilson, or "Miss Deane" as she's known to her students.
My son Brodie started lessons just after turning 3, right around the end of April/beginning of May of 2013. Twice a week, for a half hour at a time he was in the pool initially learning basic survival techniques. I myself used to teach many of these same techniques while on active duty in the Marine Corps (CWSS) so I'm quite familiar with the utility of what my son was being taught. The important thing Deane was teaching was not to fear the water, and not to panic should one find oneself in the water.
Things were progressing well and on Memorial Day weekend, while at our family cabin Brodie managed to fall into the Coquille River and got swept off into the current. I was right there so he was only in the water for probable 10-15 seconds but he immediately did exactly what he was supposed to do, which was roll over on his back, kick off his crocs, and begin doing his "Flap-Flap-Kick-Kick" routine to stay afloat. Mind you, it had only been approximately 4 or so weeks and he'd already learned enough to stay afloat till I could get to him and he never once succumbed to panic. In fact, he wasn't really scared at all. The following week he was right back in the pool as if nothing had happened.
Deane Wilson manages her students well, which is crucial for a child like my Son, who is somewhat spirited and stubborn and will eat overly permissive adults alive. She keeps the kids on task and actively learning but keeps the class fun and engaging at the same time. It can't be easy managing a bunch of kids in a swimming pool but she does so with aplomb.
Thanks to Miss Deane the only casualty from the Memorial Day incident was the Crocs which floated down the river, and nearly my iPhone, but luckily quick thinking and a bag of rice fixed that right up.
Considering our cabin is roughly 25 miles from the nearest medical assistance, it could have been much much worse.

"My 22m old has been taking swim lessons with Miss Deane for 3 months. We were getting ready to go swimming, I was getting my older child ready, and my 22m old was beside me on the step, he slipped and fell into the pool, "gasp!" My husband and I both went to grab him out of the water, but I fought every instinct to grab him, and I told my husband, "no! leave him, I want to see what he does." He turned himself around underwater and swam back to the steps!!! We praised him, he was fine, got him ready for the pool and he jumped in!
Thank you Miss Deane!!!"

Lessons are given at 727 Cardley Avenue, Medford, OR97524. Monday through Saturday.
Here are some more comments from parents that have had their children in the Superior Swim Program:
"Summer of 2013 my kids are 9 and 5. We had never had access to a pool long enough to get swimming lessons until now. We live way out in the middle of nowhere. So for the very first time we were able to get both our kids in for 5 days of swimming lessons. We were very excited when we found Miss Deane and read her reviews. She sounded like a great swimming instructor. Day one:
with both kids afraid of the water. She got them to get in the water within the first minute and they were floating on noodles, the 5 year old both noodle and arm floats. By the end of the first lesson 9 year old was swimming across half the pool with the help of a noodle and blowing short bursts of bubbles. The 5 year old has put the arm floats on the side of the pool and was comfortable using only the noodle. Day two: Just noodles today they both did great, Miss Deane is amazing. In just two days she transformed 2 kids from being afraid of the water to enjoying it. They are now jumping in the water from the side of the pool. Day three and four: Both kids are swimming short distances with no flotation devises. They are also learning to float on their backs and are more comfortable with putting their faces in the water. My 9 year old started swimming short distances underwater after just 3 lessons. Day five: My 5 year old swam through a hula hoop underwater today.
I am amazed that in just 5 lessons they can go from being afraid of the water to being able to swim underwater. My 9 year old now a few weeks later jumps in the river near our house and swims back to shore. There just aren't enough words to describe how amazing Miss Deane is. She doesn't allow them to say "I can't" she has them say "I'll try." We plan to have our kids take more lessons from her soon. I can't wait and neither can the kids. We love you Miss Deane!!! Thank you!"

More comments from parents that have children in the Superior Swim Lesson Program:
"My four year old has been in swim lessons off and on for about two years and was not even comfortable on a noodle. It seemed like her previous lessons were just play time, or the class was too large and chaotic. By her fourth lesson with Miss Deane she was swimming half the length of the pool all on her own. She was comfortable rolling on her back and swimming unassisted. I was amazed!
Ms Deane is able to judge exactly how hard to push the kids without making them panic. She has the right balance of tough swim time and fun time to keep the kids entertained and challenged. Lastly, I think it is clear that Ms Deane's goal is to make sure kids are safe in the water. That is what I appreciate the most! 5 stars and 2 thumbs up for Ms Deane!!!"
"I am so thankful that I stumbled upon Miss Deane's swim class two months ago. I was googling private swim lessons for my boys and Miss Deane popped up. I read the other testimonials of moms, and they all had similar experiences that I have been going through, trying to find an instructor that would teach my children how to swim.
My boys have to know how to swim, it's not an option, their grandparents have a small lake out their back door, I don't want my boys to be a victim of drowning. And thanks to Miss Deane they won't be!
My oldest boy who is 3 1/2, and who has been in swim class since he was 8 months old!, could not swim at all, also he was terrified of the water if I wasn't in it with him.
Mommy and me classes are nothing but a disservice to you and your child.
After 1 1/2 months of swimming with Miss Deane my 3 1/2 year old is jumping into the water turns onto his back and floats and swim on his back, all by himself!!! He jumps into the water, turns around and swims back to the wall, while putting his face in the water and blowing bubbles!!! All this without any floatation device! He loves swimming, no longer afraid!
My 1 1/2 year old, who also has been in swim class since he was 8 months old, swims the length of the pool with his arm floaters on, Miss Deane has to bring him back to the class, he loves the water! He jumps into the pool turns around and swims back to the wall, puts his face in the water and blows
bubbles while swimming!
Miss Deane is an amazing swim instructor, she's taught my boys how to swim and to be safe in the water. And she really enjoys the kids and what she's doing with them, my boys are excited about swimming now. The first 3 lessons my boys were screaming because they didn't want to be in the water, I had other members yell at me to get them out of the water, because they were so disruptive, now the 1 1/2 year old is crying when the lesson is over, I have to drag him away from the pool.
My 3 1/2 year old can't wait for the next class!
Thank you Miss Deane!!!
Jeannie, Roman and Mason"
"Before swim lessons with Miss Deane, my two children were afraid of the water and would not go in without a life vest or arm floaters. Neither one would put their heads in the water or liked being splashed in the face. After just one lesson my daughter put her face underwater, blew bubbles and emerged with a huge smile on her face. I was proud and absolutely amazed! The day of their fourth swimming lesson was a Saturday, so I decided after the lesson to take them to a local swimming pool. They both jumped into the pool fearlessly and swam around as though they'd been swimming for years!
My daughter swam around in deep water expertly, while my son swam underwater for long distances with the most perfect form and technique I'd ever seen on a six year old. His turtle arms were magnificent!! I absolutely and without any doubt recommend Miss Deane to all parents with children who are looking for a swim instructor. It's every parent's nightmare to have a child who can not swim, I now breather a great sigh of relief. I can't thank you enough Miss Deane, for what you do for our children.
Most Sincerely,
Vivian Garcia, mother of Sabina 9 yrs. old and Magnus 6 yrs. old"

"My kids are 7, 4, and 3 and are water safe. In fact, they can swim better than most of their peers. What a relief to know this going into the summer swimming season. I think teaching water safety is imperative with young children. This is exactly what Miss Deane does while teaching young children how to swim. Using kid appropriate language, teaching to each child's strengths, and with consistency, my 3 and 4 year old boys have learned to swim independently. It is comforting for my husband and me to know that our kids are safe while around or in any body of water.
As well as being effective, Miss Deane's teaching program is also flexible. My boys are about a year a half apart and are able to take semi-private lessons together. I am paying the same price for these lessons as I was when they were in separate classes at another facility; definitely more bang for my buck and time. If you are looking for an effective, consistent, and flexible program, look no further, you have found it!

"I enrolled my 5 year old son into swim lessons with Miss Deane 2 times a week. When we started he was very fearful of jumping into the water by himself, putting his head under water or letting go of the teacher without the safety of his arm floats he's been used to using in our pool. We are 9 lessons in so far and he is so exited to go to swim class, swims under water, knows what Miss Deane says when he is told do a penguin swim, a missile or use his turtle arms. It's amazing what he has learn in just that short period of time and I am so thankful that she has taught him the safety of the pool and how to handle himself if he gets into a situation while swimming. We are looking forward to see what else he can continue to do.
Thank you Miss Deane so much for making it possible for Dylan to not be afraid any longer, you are great with kids and have taught him to be independent and have a swimming plan!

Safety comes first in our Superior Swim Lessons
I want to share a email from a Grandparent that I received over the weekend.
"Here is a SHOUT OUT to Deane Wilson and the difference she has made in my grandchildren's lives!
My little Addy, almost two years old, fell in my large pond and followed Deane's safety teachings; she instantly flipped on her back and her life was saved! (Addy had a huge smile on her face while she was doing the starfish.)
I just wanted you to know and thank you,
Jeanne Rasmussen"
Another email to share:
"My daughter had been taking swimming lessons at another facility for close to a year she always had lots of fun but was not really progressing. We came to see Miss Deane and after three lessons she is swimming! I can't say enough about the quality of instruction Miss Deane provides and the fact that she emphasizes water safety is wonderful. I don't know who is more thrilled my daughter or myself.
Thank you Miss Deane!

Fall and winter swim lessons at Superior Athletic Club
Check out more comments from parents that have their children in our swim programs here at Superior Athletic Club:
"Ms. Deane does not teach kids how to swim. She teaches kids how to respect, enjoy, be comfortable, and thrive in the water. Our own 4 year-old twin boys had taken lessons prior to joining Ms. Deane. They were not progressing as quickly as we expected, nor did they appear to be having as much fun. Their first series of lessons with Ms. Deane was an awakening. She required them to ask:"Pool please?", whiched helped them understand that they needed to follow certain rules when swimming. They went on to learn the "penguin swim", "starfish", "rainbow arms", and "missiles" as their strokes in fun, "kid-friendly" language. Through the following lessons, they truly began to develop. Now a year later, and still only 5, they can swim so well that even lifeguards have commented in amazement at their ability for such a young age. My wife and I are comforted in knowing that they can enjoy the water safely, and it has proved to unexpectedly enhance our family outings and vacations. We attribute much of our boys aquatic success to having Ms. Deane as their instructor, and we whole-heartedly recommend her to other parents for their children's lessons."

"Deane is a superb swimming coach because she builds character & sportsmanship in her students. Before meeting Deane, my 9-year-old daughter swam in another facility but she struggled with her strokes & considered withdrawing from swimming lessons. However, when I learned about Deane from Superior Athletic & enrolled my daughter in Deane's swimming class, my daughter gained more confidence & enthusiasm in the pool. Deane's expert mentoring skills have revived my daughter's renewed passion in swimming to immeasurable heights. After having swum with Deane for over a year, my daughter has recently transitioned to the swim team for competitive training. Thank you, Deane, the world over, for your devotion in developing young leaders demonstrating excellence in the water & beyond the margins of the pool in life's grand arena."
"I'm one of those moms that spent too much money on swim lessons that didn't stick. You can understand my joy when I found Miss Deane and saw my money put to good use! Once my two girls were under her instruction, it was remarkable how quickly they learned to swim. I must add that her instruction includes great techniques that gets kids using good form. I loved this because bad habits can be difficult to break. Miss Deane is also gifted with pushing kids beyond what they think they are able to accomplish. This was true with my girls. With that said, both girls love to swim and are still swimming with the Superior Stingrays! Thanks you, Miss Deane!
