Ask yourself this question.......

Why wait until the summer months to provide swim lessons for my loved ones?

The benefits of fall/winter swim lessons are numerous.

* class sizes are smaller which means more time is spent with each student

* provides for total body exercise on those cold and rainy days of winter

* fun activity for all members of the family

* students will be ready for the sun filled water days of summer

Here are some recent comments from parents that provide their children with swim lessons during the fall and winter months.

I enrolled my daughter, Brenna, into swim lessons at a different facility when she was 4. She is now 6 1/2. She had group swim lessons twice a week during the school year and unfortunately came out of that without learning how to swim and still very afraid of the water. I enrolled her in another 6 week class during the summer, thinking that I would give it another try. At the end of that additional 6 week class I found that she was still terrified of the water and still didn't know how to swim. I look back now and realize she wasn't excited to go to swim class. She was full of anxiety, however, I felt it was important to continue because I feel learning how to swim could one day save her life. Brenna's first lesson with Miss Deane was a very proud moment for Mom! Mainly because I saw how proud Brenna was of herself. She was swimming on her first lesson. A little nervous - but
SWIMMING! Her next lesson was even better. Not so nervous and swam her little heart out. She even jumped in without a flotation device on - something she never did at the other facility. Brenna has a blast in Miss Deane's swim class and looks
forward to each and every lesson - with excitement! Thank you Miss Deane! You are a amazing teacher!

Susan - Proud Mom of Brenna

Our seven-year old son, who is mildly autistic, had spent almost one year in group lessons without being able to put his face in the water or letting go of his grip on his teachers. In short, he was no close to feeling comfortable swimming than when he had started group lessons. In six half-hour private lessons with Deane Wilson, he is now voluntarily blowing bubbles, opening his eyes underwater, and "turtle swimming" the length of a 25 yard pool, without the aid of a flotation device. Deane understands our son's apprehensions, but continuously cheers him on and inspires him to overcome his inner blocks by pushing him out of this comfort zone while respecting his fears. She does so with radiant facial and vocal expressions that are critical cues for many autistic children, but simultaneously continues to set goals for our son, always setting the bar higher and never settling for mediocrity or lack of effort. We would enthusiastically and gratefully recommend Deane as a teacher and an inspiration.

It has been wonderful to watch our children learn important swimming skills from Miss Deane. Each of them have different personalities and skills levels. Miss Deane is extremely competent at teaching them in a group setting, while focusing on individual growth. Miss Deane has an awesome relationship with our children. She allows them to enjoy swimming while maintaining a learning environment full of respect, growth and love.

Fall Fun Swim Lessons

Welcome,

Children of all ages respond to my creative swim stoke titles. A few are "Rainbow Roll Over Swim". Rainbow Shark Swim" and "Penguin Swim." My swim lessons are fun and fast paced. I believe the element of fun is key to capturing children's imaginations, and in turn creating happy successful swimmers.

Number "1" rule in Miss Deane's swim class is "don't panic". The students learn to use techniques taught to them to get out of any perceived trouble that may arise while swimming. I want them to use their heads and be in control of their actions to be safe in the water.

Here are some recent testimonials from parents of my students:

"I am amazed at how far my 4 year old daughter has come in her swimming abilities. Thanks to Miss Deane, Kenzie is growing in her confidence, learning water safety and thoroughly having a fantastic time in the pool." "Danielle"

"Miss Deane was quick to engage my daughters and develop a rapport. This was important for my three year old who was hesitant in the water. Her classes are fast paced and fun. She incorporates water safety in addition to stroke development in each lesson. My daughters' capabilities have improved tremendously since beginning swim lessons with Deane Wilson this summer." "Amanda Alstadt"

"My 7 year old grandson would only play in our pool wearing a life vest. I enrolled him in Superior's swimming lessons and watched Miss Deane take a boy who was scared and teach him how to swim. She took away his fear and enabled him to begin the process of becoming a competent swimmer. I will never forget the look of fear and determination on my grandson's face as she commanded him "swim to me" and he did. She has the knowledge and skills that enabled him to change the look of fear and determination to one of surprise and pride - well done Miss Deane." "A grateful Grandma, Jeannine"

"When my boys started Miss Deane's class six week ago they couldn't swim and would barely get in the water. With patient yet firm encouragement Deane systematically broke down their fears of the water and taught them that swimming and getting wet, can be fun! Now going to swimming lessons is the highlight of their day. I love the fun and unique ways she taught them how to swim, float, and go under water. After only a couple of weeks in her class my five year old now swims as if he's been doing it his entire life, using his rainbow arms, shark swim, and nose bubbles. I highly recommend Miss Deane's swimming class to everyone!" "Jessica Nunez, Mommy to Cameron and Jack"
